Classic VW Type 1 Link Pin Adjusters - 2450 Classic VW Type 1 Link Pin Adjusters - 2450

A good way to lower a Classic Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle or Karmann Ghia with link pin front suspension ( 1949 through 1965) is utilizing adjusters in the center of the beam.

These adjusters will give you the ability to adjust your VW up and down a total of 7.5" when installed at 25 degrees up from parallel to the ground. This means you can go up to stock height at the highest setting and the ability to go down a total of 7.5", but you can set it anywhere you want within that range.

Do not believe the 50/50 garbage out there, it is a Band-aid idea that will only cause more harm. Your factory link pin suspension is designed to be at a stock height, with the arms at a 60 degree angle. The top arm is bottomed out on the stop, the stock shock is maxed out in extension and this is all assumed, that the factory torsions haven't lost any spring tension. (Theortically, if the 50/50 method was put in place with relaxed torsions, you are putting more stress on them to index them higher giving the vehicle an unstable ride. Would it lift it to stock height? Maybe. Would it be good advice to do this to keep your family safe? No.) Installing these adjusters at 25 degrees give you the best use of travel within the range of the factory working components.

There are three ways to lower your 1949 through 1965 Type 1. Good, Better, Best.
