This converts all 1967 and prior buses to independent rear suspension. You can raise and lower your bus without altering wheel camber, by rotating the brackets on the torsion tube, resulting in better power transfer from the engine. It is very important that the instructions provided here be followed to insure a trouble-free installation. It is also recommended that you have a copy of the 63-67 factory workshop manual, an excellent reference to consult with.

Additional Parts Needed:

• The whole rear end of an IRS bug, thing or type 3:
• Transmission
• control arms
• stub axles
• CV joints
• metal brake lines
• nuts and bolts for the arms

This kit comes with control arm mounting brackets (bolt on), special spring plates and proper length axles.

Sold exchange basis for the spring plates.

You will need "Thing" suspension if you want stock height. Type 1 or 3 will lower it a minimum of 1 1/2 inches. Stock brakes will no longer work on this change over.
