This wheel comes in a 4x130mm Vintage VW bolt pattern and in two configurations. 5.125 inch and 4.625 inch back spacings.
Recommended Front Applications 1949-79 US Spec Beetles & Karmann Ghias will need a 4 inch narrowed beam to be able to tuck these wheels with drop spindles and disc brakes with 5.125 inch back spacing wheels. Factory disc applications will need to shave casting marks on calipers, install our BAD Series Disc Brakes with narrower than factory calipers or add a 1/4" spacer.
Recommended Rear Applications 1949-65 US Spec Beetles & Karmann Ghias outfitted with short axles will not have to change anything in the rear and will run the 4.625 inch back spacing wheels to create the staggered look. 1966-68ᅠUS Spec Beetles will need to run the 5.125 inchᅠ back spacing models if the vehicle is currently running long axles in the rear. If you want to run the staggered look in the rear, you can run an 1.250 inch wider fender or change the axles out to the short axles from 49-65. Karmann Ghias can only run the 5.125 inch rear wheels with short axle or narrowed IRS arms. 1969-79ᅠUS Spec Beetles & Super Beetles will need to run the 5.125 inch back spacing models due to the IRS configuration. If you want to run the staggered look in the rear, you can run an 1.250 inch wider fender or change to narrowed diagonal arms that are 1 inch narrowed.
Type 2 Bus Applications 1955-79 US Type 2 Buses will need 5.125 inch back spacing wheels. Rear applications will need to be the same unless you have installed a short axle configuration in the rear. Then you can run the 4.625 inch back spacing wheels.
Porsche 356 Applications You can run the 5.125 inch fronts and 4.625 inch rear with out issues on the 356s up to 63.
Type 3 Applications will needᅠ 5.125 inch back spacing wheels up front and if outfitted with long axles or IRS, you will need to run the same wheels. If you convert to short axle, you can run the 4.625 inch back spacing wheels. If you have a custom suspension set up and would like to run a specific wheel, contact us for details.
Super Beetle - To run the 5.125" Back Spaced wheels, front and rear, You will need to have Topline Coil overs installed, smooth drums, rotors that do not have the hub-centric provision and if you have the ghia style calipers installed, you will need to shave the calipers or run a 1/4" spacer. For the rear, trimming the bump stop mount might be required.
